Tweak HTML Report (based on fontawesome)

Reported by: guest Owned by: tobwoerk
Priority: major Milestone: Version 1.8.0
Component: Report Version: 1.6.0

Description

Currently for report generation there is an XSLT file and some png resources used.

To give the report a little more modern layout, you could switch to fontawesome icons.

Please have a look at the attached screenshot to get and idea about the new layout.

To implement such a change, some js code would need to be changed, because it is based on <img> and Fontawesome is using <i>.

If you are interested in, I could work this issue and submit a patch.

Dear guest,

thanks for your ideas and suggestions concerning the current Wetator default report.
At first sight your report version indeed has a slightly more modern look though you kept it nearly the same from a structural point of view.

We like the idea of tweaking the fonts and especially some icons (the check mark, the X or the open/collapse pictures) as suggested.
We also guess that we won't need fontawesome for doing so. And we'd like to keep some of the currently used images since we prefer them to the fontawesome icons (e.g. the browser icons).

We consider changing the following elements in a next version:

  • green check mark
  • red & blue X
  • open/collapse
  • some font tweaks (e.g. bold headlines)

Yours
Wetator team

Just replacing the png images is easier to implement I agree. If you do so, please add them in high resolution and not only 72 dpi. Retina displays are getting main stream. :-) Nice website to download fontawesome as png is http://fa2png.io/.

In the screenshot I was using

  • fa-check
  • fa-times
  • fa-plus-square-o
  • fa-file-text-o
  • fa-crosshairs
  • fa-exclamation-triangle
  • fa-caret-down
  • fa-caret-up
